Following watery pathways though unfolding landscapes, anticipating where each bend and turn may lead us, being drawn ever deeper into this ancient and secretive place reminded me of a personal journey, and of how life unfolds its mysteries and revelations. At times I responded to the harbour’s brooding moodiness, other times, to a sense of calm and safety. Being enveloped by mist, blinding bands of rain and wind or the low winter light was paradoxically reassuring, I felt protected, held by a vast silvery belly of water, sheltered by misty layers of low lying land and distant mountain ranges.

My experience of Port Davey was mystifying, disorientating and yet strangely comforting.
